Hollywood newcomer Logan Lerman has emerged as the frontrunner to take over web-slinging from Tobey Maguire in the new Spider-Man movie.
The young star of upcoming film Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief has revealed that he's in talks to play the superhero's alter-ego, Peter Parker, in a movie prequel.
Appearing on Los Angeles radio program The Billy Bush Show on Thursday, the teenager revealed, "There have been a few discussions; it’s definitely something I’m looking into.
"It’s one of my favorite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series. I’d love to have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it."
The new film came about when Maguire and Spider-Man 4 director Sam Raimi quit the project last month, and Sony bosses decided to go in a different direction with their superhero film franchise.
